Fellows Educational Grants
Financial Support for Fellows Impacted by COVID-19
Because of the Global Pandemic, travel is not occurring at this time and at least through the calendar year—and perhaps the academic year. As a result, ASPN has not sponsored travel for trainees. Despite the lack of travel, fellows continue to need CME and career development. The Council of the ASPN and the Board of Directors of the Foundation have considered how they might assist fellows as they continue to enhance their education. As a result, the ASPN Foundation is offering educational grants to Pediatric Nephrology Fellows for career enrichment, valued up to $400.
These are one-time grants intended to provide support for financial hardships inflicted on fellows by the pandemic. They are intended to be career enrichment grants that fall under the umbrella of education, quality improvement, or research. Fellows from groups underrepresented in medicine are encouraged to apply.
Following are a few examples of how funds can be utilized: Board review courses, virtual courses around nephrology, educational materials, costs associated with research or QI projects, publication costs and memberships.
Recipients will be asked to provide a brief report on how funds were spent no more than 90 days following the activity/expenditure.
Award notifications will made within 60 days of receipt of application.
